MPN Arabic Language Expo- Report Back

Muslim Professionals Network (MPN), in conjunction with Al-Huda Magazine hosted an Arabic Language Expo on Saturday 4 July in Johannesburg at the Afro-Middle East Centre. Attended by over 30 students, teachers and potential students and teachers of all ages and occupations, the event sought to encourage both the studying and teaching of the Arabic language.
The guest speaker was Dr Abdurahman Abdulazeez (www.understandquran.com) who motivated those who studied Arabic at any level to start teaching others.
The aim of the event was to create a hype around the language and provide the platform and information that those that want to learn and/or teach. This is an ongoing process so all are encouraged to contact us when they feel ready to start studying or teaching, and also to provide us with details of any courses or classes that are being held around the country. Our vision is a network of students of Arabic that teach others and create a circle or learning and teaching.

Fountain of Wisdom, 6 week beginners course (Fordsburg)
Schedule: 11 July-15 August, Saturdays from 1pm to 5pm
Cost: R1200 ( arrangements will be made for those who cannot afford)

This is perfect for working people who feel they need to keep in touch with Islamic knowledge. The classes are given free of charge and you just have to pay for the textbooks.

Schedule: Saturday morning 9 – 11 am : Advanced 11 am – 1 pm: Beginners
Cost: R50 per hour.
Run by an Egyptian language teacher and has separate groups for beginners and advanced learners.

JHB: MPN Arabic Expo

A consummate Arabic language educator whose course has been taught to 40 000 students in over 70 countries.
The expo aims firstly to raise awareness of opportunities for interested parties to pursue studies in the Arabic language in Johannesburg while at the same bringing together potential students, former students and facilitators to network in an amiable atmosphere. The course consists of common recitations (Last few Surahs of Qur’an, recitations of Salah and other supplications) and basic Arabic grammar. Through these, you will also learn basic meanings of around 100 words, which occur almost 40,000 times in the Qur’an.
In addition, learning MODERN language learning and memorization tips which will be of help in all subjects. Learn Arabic Grammar using a modern approach, called TPI (Total Physical Interaction).
