JHB/CPT/DBN: Prof. Norman Finkelstein’s visit to SA [13 - 21 Aug]
August 6, 2009 by muslimadmin · Leave a Comment
The organizations/bodies listed below will be hosting political science professor, Norman G. Finkelstein, during his visit to South Africa from the 12th to the 22nd August, 2009. Professor Finkelstein will be delivering a series of lectures in Johannesburg , Cape Town and Durban . He is an outspoken critic of Israels policies towards the Palestinians and has questioned the use of the Holocaust for devious purposes and the misuse of the term anti-Semitism. Both his parents are Holocaust survivors. In his book Beyond Chutzpah he exposes Professor Alan Dershowitzs book The Case for Israel, (which was relaunched in South Africa on Tuesday, July 21, 2009) as containing plagiarism and fraudulent research. Dershowitz conducted a vigorous campaign against Finkelstein which, amongst other things, resulted in DePaul University , Chicago , denying Professor Finkelstein tenure.
